The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition has gotten a boast and this time, this boast from a host of notable football legends who paid him a courtesy visit in his Bourdillon, Ikoyi home.
The football legends were Taribo West, Peter Rufai, Victor Ikpeba, Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha and a host of others who went to show solidarity to the frontline politician and master political strategist, an opportunity they all used to show support for his presidential ambition as according to Jay-Jay Okocha, may God bring to fruition, Asiwaju’s future ambitions.
As seen in this video, they and Asiwaju were very happy, as they were welcomed with open arms, even though this is generating alot of controversies as Nigerians are asking why these people would go endorse him, knowing his age and health condition, saying that this may not be far from poverty and the need for quick money.
We can report that the last has not been heard of visits like this as we march toward 2023.
In his reaction, Nwankwo on a social media handle said, “When the chips are down, the person who turns up for you, is the real friend. Loyalty means something…so if Kanu Nwankwo and his friends want to honour Tinubu on his declared birthdate and age, it’s their call and we should respect that. If you see it as an endorsement, so be it. Stop the intolerance.
He has a right to his choice as we all do. He has clearly explained that Tinubu was one of the few who generously supported his heart foundation. The Kanu Nwankwo Heart Foundation saved lives many children benefited and wouldn’t be alive today but for the foundation. Let’s respect that.
