Mr Raymos Guanah, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for Patani House of Assembly constituency for the 2023 general election, has condemned the gruesome murder of Mr Dennis Egbejule and his son on their farm by persons suspected to be herdsmen.
The deceased were murdered in Toru Angiama community of Patani Local Government Area of Delta on Monday morning in their farm.
Guanah called on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to book.
The APC House of Assembly candidate also called for adequate security to be provided for the people to enable them go to their farms, especially in the wake of the massive destruction done to their farms by the recent flood crisis.
Guanah said that the way out of the reoccurring cases of killings attributed to herdsmen, is to encourage ranching, saying that open grazing is no longer in vogue in civilized societies.
He also stressed that commercial cultivation of ‘alfafa, Timothy, Napier, bracharia and Bermuda’ grass as feed for cattle is a huge business with huge potentials for job and wealth creation .
Guanah also called on the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to popularise the activities of the National Pasture Development Programme and make available pasture seeds for famers accross the country.
He commiserated with the family of the deceased and urged the people to be vigilant as they go about their daily activities.
