The Isagba of Ogwashi- Uku Kingdom, Chief Jude Ozah, has called on Hausa and Fulani Communities in Ogwashi- Uku in Aniocha South Local Governnent Area of Delta to continue to live in peace and unity with their host community for the purpose of development.
Ozah made the call during a meeting with the heads of Hausa and Fulani Communities and Ogbe- Onicha people at Ogwashi- Uku.
The monarch who noted that peace was paramount to development, called on Hausa and Fulani Communities to live in peace and unity with the people of the area and avoid actions capable of causing crisis in the area.
He stressed the need for people to live together in peace and be their brothers’ keeper, irrespective of tribe and religion, adding that everyone remained the same in the sight of God.
Ozah also said that the incessant complaints by the people of the area over the destruction of crops in their farms by Fulani cattle should be put to a stop.
He called on the head of Fulani herdsmen in the area to advice the herdsmen to monitor their cattle in order to avoid incessant destruction of farm produced.
Responding, the head of Hausa community in the Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Mohammed Duka, lauded Chief Ozah for the initiative of calling for the meeting to resolve crisis amicably, describing him as a man that had the interest of others at heart.
He assured the monarch of peaceful coexistence with their host community, saying that he would do everything possible to ensure that every issue between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the area was settled.
