Ese Oruru, the Bayelsa girl who was abducted as a teenager and forced into marriage in Kano, is now studying in a university, former education minister Oby Ezekwesili said on Friday.
Ezekwesili did not disclose the university in her tweet, although she noted that Oruru had a baby girl for her abductor.
Oruru was 13 years old when she was abducted on August 12, 2015, at her mother’s shop in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
“I stayed on the matter beyond our collective success in getting her back to her parents. Ese had a baby girl, I supported her to continue with her JSS. She’s in University,” she said.
