German club hires Sunday Oliseh as new head coach


German fourth tier side, SV Straelen has appointed Super Eagles legend, Sunday Oliseh as their new head coach for the incoming season.

The ex-international has previously managed the Super Eagles in 2015-2016 and Eridevise side Fortuna Sittard from 2017 to 2018.

Speaking on the appointment of Oliseh, Club President Hermann Tecklenburg said “Yes, Sunday Oliseh will be our new coach. A good 14 days ago we had delicious asparagus at the Straelener Hof,” as quoted by via conpletesportng

“That was a good conversation. In the last 24 hours we were also able to discuss an employment contract until June 30, 2023. On Wednesday 21 June, Sunday will lead the first practice session. We look forward to working together.”

The 47-year-old has signed a one year contract with the German team and will home to marvel for his side.

Oliseh is regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest midfielder having played 56 matches and won the 1994 AFCON and 1996 Olympic Gold medal.
