Mass defections: Governor directs head of service to oversee chief of staff office

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano has directed the Head of Civil Service, Usman Bala, to oversee the Office of the Chief of Staff to the governor with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement statement by the state  Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba in Kano.
Ganduje said that the supervision would be pending the appointment of a substantive Chief of Staff.
The governor,  expressed the hope for effective supervision and coordination by the Head of Service, having served in the same office before
The governor’s Chief of Staff Ali Makoda suddenly resigned and defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) alongside other notable politicians.
