Education is the bed rock of any society and without doubt, any Nation that aspires for greatness in all spheres must ensure that education remains of paramount importance. Unfortunately, gaining a proper education is challenging for underprivileged families in Nigeria.
Nigeria’s system of education is made up of the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Each level is designed to meet the needs in the students’ educational pursuit. Of these levels, Chief Sir Monday Onyeme has not reneged in contributing positively to the progress of learners.
Onyeme who has always seen education as the key to sustainable development, has made big strides in the education sector over the past seven years.
His annual scholarship programme for students in higher learning has encouraged and psyched up academic spirit among Ndokwa youths.
It is on record that Onyeme has built and equipped libraries, renovated dilapidated classroom blocks, donated tables, chairs and books to schools.
The recent presentation of cheques to over 200 students of Ndokwa extraction for the 2021 edition of Monday Onyeme Foundation Annual Scholarship is commendable. Without doubt his kind gestures will lessen the burden on parents who are struggling to make ends meet in the constituency.
