Update on Chrisland schools sex tape of minors

The Lagos state government has ordered immediate closure Chrisland schools over a reported case of rape of a 10 year old pupil., as the State Police Command commenced investigation into the scandal.
It was reported that the victim was gang raped by her schoolmates during a trip to Dubai.
The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many calling on government to act.
In a statement on Monday, the state Ministry of Education said that investigation into the matter was ongoing.
The statement said that the allegations of sexual violence involving students of Chrisland Schools are being investigated by the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Ministry of Education; Office if Education Quality Assurance; Ministry of Youth and Social Devi; Ministry of Justice and the Lagos State Domestic & Sexual Violence Agency.
The statement jointly signed by the MDAs, revealed that the criminal allegations had been escalated to the Commissioner of Police.
”In view of the allegations, we are committed to ensuring that adequate medical and pscyho-social support is provided.
”This is to reassure members of the public of the state Government’s commitment to saftey and child protection, especially in ensuring that all child-cenred institutions within the state, formulary and implement policies and systems that are compliant with the Executive Order (No.EO/AA08 of 2016), Lagos State Safeguarding and Child Protection Program.”
”The state government therefore reminded the general public that anyone who engages in any visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving of a child commits an offence and is liable to custodial sentence of 14 years.
” This include producing, distributing, receiving, or possessing an image of child pornography.
“In the meantime, all Chrisland Schools within Lagos State are hereby closed, pending further investigations,” the state government stated.
Meanwhile, the mother of the pupil has reacted through a tearful video she released on Monday.
She said that while her daughter was raped by her peers, someone recorded the act and posted it online.
According to the mother, the school tried to cover up the incident up. She stated that the school threatened her daughter not to talk to anyone about the incident or else they would kill her.
She said that the school conducted a pregnancy test on the girl while ostensibly saying that they were carrying out a COVID-19 test on her.
The girl’s mother also said that the girl gave her charger to one Kachi, who asked her to come for the charger in the night in the boys’ room which the outrageous sex act took place.
The mother said that it was when the daughter got there that the boys gave her a substance which she alleged made her to lose her mind.
“My child attends Chrislam School Victoria Garden City. Good evening mothers, good evening to everybody to fellow Nigerians, I am making out this cry to every one to help me out.
“About a month ago, I was on my way out of Lagos, so I got a call from Mrs Azike, the head teacher of the school. She told me that she needed to see me, I said okay I would come when I return.
”So two days after, I came to the school, and met her with two other women in her office. One introduced herself as Mrs Kemi, that they came from Chrisland headquarters
“They just wanted me to know that my daughter whom I left in their care, that they took to Dubai.”
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Command says it has commenced investigation into the sex scandal.
In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police said that efforts were in place to establish the identities of those in the video.
”The command has commenced investigations into the matter with a view to establishing the identities of the players in the video, the true incident in the video, the geographical location of the incident, the alleged threat to life against a student of the school and the circumstances surrounding the alleged repeated pregnancy tests conducted on a student without parental consent.
”The command is equally taking cognizance of the cybercrime angle to the whole episode and would not hesitate to enlist the support of the interpol should the need arise.
”For a holistic and unbiased investigation, the Command shall be working with relevant MDAs and Non-governmental organizations.
”Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi has assured that due diligence will be observed to ensure that there is no miscarriage of Justice.”
